Baja Mexico November 2013

We spent the night in Bahia de Los Angeles (BOLA) filling up on mole enchiladas and margaritas at Guillermos Hotel and Restaurant. The Range Rover Baja tour came in and had dinner at the same place. They have been doing tours for 14 years, so I guess we picked the right place. Guillermo's has huge rooms with 5 beds that were clean and right by the water. Dan, Gordon and I hit up a bar for a few more margaritas after dinner and sipped some good tequila. In the morning, Alex went to an autoparts store and bought some proper bushings for his P38 as the ones from Coco disintegrated on the shorttrip.

After an excellent breakfast, we met some guys from San Diego who were planning on fishing. It was still too windy so they were hanging out drinking bloody mary's and hoped to get on the water later that day. We ventured out is search of the petroglyphs. We drove around a few side roads and never came across them. After abondoning our hunt, we headed to Mission Borja in the middle of the desert. It was quite a bit of offroading to get to the mission through amazing cactus forests and stunning desert. At one stop, I counted no less than 6 different kinds within 20 feet of each other. One cactus reaches to the sky about 30 feet high and looks to be straight out of a Dr Seuss book.
